TraffikGene selected among the final four in Banco Sabadell’s BStartup Health 2026
The Galician biotech, a spin-off of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, advances to the final stage of Spain’s longest-running health investment program

Santiago de Compostela, Spain – 4 November 2026

TraffikGene, a biotechnology company developing peptide-based carriers for the targeted delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics, has been selected as one of four finalists in the 2026 edition of BStartup Health, Banco Sabadell’s investment program for early-stage health companies.

The selection followed the program’s Demo Day on 14 October, at which eight finalist companies presented in Barcelona to partners from the specialist health funds participating in this year’s edition: Asabys Partners, CG Health Ventures, Clave Capital, Columbus Venture Partners, CRB Health Tech, Inveready, Invivo Partners, Montana Children’s Health, Ship2B and Ysios Capital.

Notably, TraffikGene was one of four finalist companies in a record-breaking year for the BStartup Health call, that attracted interest of more than 235 competing projects and companies spanning all health categories (therapeutics, medtech, AI). This achievement makes the company eligible for investment from Sabadell Venture Capital firm.

Now in its ninth consecutive year, BStartup Health has invested up to €200,000 in a minimum of three pre-seed and seed-stage health companies each edition in exchange for equity, through an evergreen vehicle wholly owned by Banco Sabadell. The program has made more than 21 investments in the Spanish health sector to date.

“Reaching the final four, selected by partners from the leading Biotech venture capital funds in Spain, is meaningful validation of what our team has built. Delivery remains the central constraint on RNA therapeutics, and this recognition reflects growing confidence that our carrier platform can address it.” Said Alberto Fuertes, CEO of TraffikGene.

TraffikGene is developing a platform of amphiphilic peptide carriers that formulate with nucleic acids in a single reproducible step and can be tuned to reach tissues beyond the liver. The company is advancing an internal pipeline in rare diseases alongside R&D collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
